Admin charges

Can you advise on admin charges please. couldn't find anything relevant on website. I recently took my daughters Renault Zoe to be serviced and mot'd. they discovered a problem which we were able to get the warranty company to pay for. On asking the garage to liaise with the warranty company so that the problem could be conveyed they said there would be an extra charge for this service. They did not say how much. Naively we considered that maybe it would be about £25 and that we could cope with that, but 15 minutes later after making the phone call the garage rang us back to say that 'good news the warranty company will pay but you owe us £75 admin charge'.
Do we have to accept this or can we refuse to pay/offer a smaller amount?  I feel that £75 is a bit steep for making a phone call. They don't have to do any paperwork as I have to reclaim the money from the warranty when I've got an invoice.
heres hoping
thanks

Without seeing any paperwork or T&Cs then it's hard to give a categorical answer .. but my gut feel is that they're taking you for a ride.

They didn't say how much... and you didn't ask.

Just out of interest, what's the garage's hourly labour rate?

At £75 for 15 minutes it seems it is £300 per hour.

I think you are being conned.
Get in touch with whoever the warranty is with.

Standard charge, flat one hour's labour - and that would cover if it took longer?

The thing is that the OP never asked how much, they just assumed...
