I have just received the following alert on Google Chrome. Does anyone have any information or advice on this?

It tells you that somewhere on the internet that email address and password combination that you just used is breached. It could be from any site that you might have used the same combination1

It`s a feature of Chrome, nothing to do with Ford money.
There`s a link in the article to check the status of all your passwords in Chrome.

Thank you @2010 this is very interesting.
I am still concerned though that they are saying that Ford Money has had a data breach but nothing has been reported in the media.
None of my other 200 odd passwords are being reported by Chrome as having been compromised. It is reasonable to assume that there is some evidence for their claim,0 -
Play safe and change your password for that particular account.2

There doesn't need to be a reported data breach for this software to work. Under the covers Google (and the other big providers like Microsoft and Apple) have data collectors hunting through the dark web looking for exposed credentials and then automatically linking this to the pop up you sometimes see.1

There is widespread confusion about what the warning actually means. It doesn't state or necessarily mean Ford Money has had a data breach. The data breach could have occurred on another site, and it doesn't necessarily relate to another of your accounts - for example the password might just have been found in a leaked database from another site. Google have some explaining to do before any conclusions can be reached, but it seems prudent to change the password in question. Are there any Ford Money users who also use Google Chrome to remember passwords who have also received/not received this warning?

I consider my password here to be unique although that may naive on my part. I did discover from my records that I had used the same password a few years ago for a Ford spare parts site. This is no longer active but the password may still be somewhere on the web,0
