My daughter has a 10 month old Kia Ceed.   The car is insured with Hastings Direct who state they may use parts that are not made by the manufacture including recycled parts and similar types.  Kia offer an accident after care service where they will manage the claim and make sure the car is repaired with genuine parts at a Kia approved centre so maintaining the cars warranty.

On the Hastings Direct schedule of insurance it states "If you don't use one of your insurer's approved repairers the most they'll pay towards a claim is £95.  You'll need to cover any costs over this amount as well as paying the above excesses"

In the policy document it states that she can choose her own repairer but she will lose some of the benefits of not using their repairer.

Question.  Am I missing something here and that they would really only covering £95 of any claim?

OK I have found the answer.  The £95 is the maximum windscreen cover
