Esta

We were due to travel to Hawaii in September. We decided to move the holiday to next year September. We have now found out even if we wanted to travel to Hawaii we can't as America has cancel our Esta and no refund either. Is that legal or even fair. We have sent two emails and even on their website they have stated they will not be refunding

The US suspended ESTA's once they decided they didn't want tourists from the UK. They are normally valid for two years and I hope they will be re instated when the rules change again. However yesterday there were strong suggestions that the US would not remove the ban until there is a vaccine. To expect the US to refund the $14 I am afraid is totally unrealistic, this is President Trump....

So what about this makes it any kind of bargain then...?

In general, ESTA's haven't been cancelled, simply suspended for people who have been in the UK or any of the Schengen countries in the 14 day period before they are due to travel to the US.
Once the travel restrictions are lifted, the ESTA you have will be valid again.

The only ESTA's that are getting cancelled are those that were issued to travelers who attempted to ignore the restriction and gain entry into the US.
