Portable workshop/garage in front garden

I have been searching the Planning Portal for information on this and found conflicting advice on whether we need planning permission. We want to put up a portable garage/glorified tent in the front garden to protect a classic car while we work on it. The car has been in the garden for 30 years. The erection would be in front of the building line but not facing a road because we are at the end of a cul de sac so the road ends at our driveway; most of the garden extends past the end of the road and actually faces an open green. It is also screened by high hedges. Does anyone have experience with similar buildings in this sort of location?
