Refused 0% Credit Card by RBS

I have been refused a 0% interest credit card to transfer a balance. I don't really need it but thought 0% for 18 months so why not?
I have an decent income - not effected by covid 19, no mortgage, no dependants, credit reports all good, healthy savings with RBS and with other banks. Not associated to anyone who has adverse credit or missed payments, no joint account with anyone.
Previously I have had a car loan - paid in full on time,
credit from currys for white goods - paid in full on time,
one  loan from dfs which is coming to and end after 4 years of on time payments,
Credit card paid in full every month by d/d,
All utilities paid in full on time via d/d,
So made application to RBS but refused. Apon asking why was told I did not meet their internal scoring system. Asked could they give me more info as to what i need to improve but they gave me a generic answer.  Told them I don't really need the card but it's now niggling me that I was refused.
Anyone with any advice or comment ????

If your credit files are in good shape, then you just didn't meet their criteria.

Don't take it personally - there's plenty more fish in the credit sea.

But why apply for a BT card if you don't have a B to T?

Told them I don't really need the card”

All the more reason for them to not provide you with one then?

Try an eligibility checker for other zero percent cards - and try on the banks website directly rather than relying on the generic eligibility checkers like totally money etc. You can check your credit agency files just to make sure there's nothing amiss, but it's likely that for whatever reason you didn't fit their credit profile. It's not something I'd worry about. Try Virgin. Don't apply for too many cards in quick succession though.
