I am planning to retire from a local government job in March 2020. Nothing has been agreed yet re: annual local government pay rise (due to Covid19 we might obviously not get one at all) if we do though and it is not agreed until after March but is backdated to this year will I still be entitled to it even though I have retired?

It might help people answer if you could correct the date as March 2020 was 3 months ago.

I think it depends on the small print of what is agreed. I'm in a similar situation that I'm (ill health) retiring at the end of next month and the March 2019 payrise is possibly being paid in July's pay packet. I've been told that it's likely from this year that the agreement (between employer and unions) will state it won't be paid to people who have already left. I.e. if its paid in August I'll miss out even though it 'should' have applied for the past 14ish months.0
