VIN number help!

Hi.
I've recently bought an old 1987 Renault Trafic campervan. I need to apply for a new V5, for which I need the VIN number. I found what I think is the VIN plate, but I'm having trouble working out what the number should be. I know it is supposed to be 17 digits, but the plate I found has 19. I have written out below the digits in the format that they are displayed. If you have any ideas I'd be so grateful.
T3 18

Thank you for any assistance you can offer!

I doubt that's the VIN plate. Those look more like things like paint codes, trim spec, effectively a build plate that describes the vehicle. The VIN number will be one continuous unbroken string of numbers and letters in a single line with no spacing.

The VIN will be 17 digits long, and will start VF1T - probably T3, which says which particular type of Trafic yours is.
The plate will look a lot like this on a 1980s Renault:
