Mazda 6 2014 2.2 Diesel engine problem.

When the car actively regenerates it injects additional diesel, some of which is then burnt off to raise the DPF temperature. However not all of this extra diesel is burnt and it ends up in the sump.1

Hi There,
It maybe too late to respond to the original post. But I recently had similar problem with my Mazda 6 2.2 diesel 2014 plate. First of all, just to let everyone know that I'm pretty much constantly on the motorway and driving between £25000 and 30000 miles a year and never switch off engine during DPF regeneration cycle. It is pretty easy to spot: start stop doesn't work, engine works rougher and fuel consumption figure drops significantly. Normally it would occur every 250-300 miles. I just passed 87 k on my car from new. I had always done service at Mazda official dealer at right intervals and changed oil occasionally interim at local garage since I was aware of rising oil problem (dilution of oil by fuel doesn't seat right with me). However, over last 2-3 weeks i've noticed that DPF filter regeneration kicks in every 80-90 miles instead of usual 250-300. No warning lights came on on dashboard and the care drives as usual. I took it to Mazda thinking that my DPF is partially blocked and getting ready to spend some ££ to do forced regeneration. However, at Mazda service they told me (without even checking the car) that the most likely scenario is that injectors are starting to give up. They also told that until any warning light comes up I can drive and after that they will look into the problem but at the same time warned me that if they are right (I have no reasons not to believe them since it looks like that I'm not the only one...) and injectors are at fault it would cost me £600 per injector to fix/replace. Long story short. After facing the potential bill of £2500 I got rid of the car whilst no warning light came up and now a happy owner of petrol car (without a turbo). Mazdas are great looking car and also great fun to drive but 2.2 diesel is just pants. Maybe the most recent version of it is markedly improved but I still have serious reservation about it.
Hope my post helps.0
