Halifax Intermediaries DIP

Hi all. We're hoping to buy our first home through the HTB Equity Loan scheme and have just reserved. We've been working with a broker as I have three defaults totalling approx £2000 from 5.5 years ago, and a couple of missed payments from 3 years ago.
Our broker (up front fee, well reviewed) has been great, and against our expectations got us a DIP from Halifax Intermediaries after taking our case to a few lenders. I'm a little concerned however that Halifax seem to have a really poor reputation for DIP reliability given they only soft check. Our broker tells us that he's been through our reports and finances with a fine tooth comb and that everything was declared on the DIP application.
Our broker seems confident, but can anyone on here give their thoughts? I'd never expected to be high street eligible at this point, so it all seems too good to be true.

Trust your broker, as long as he has ticked the correct adverse boxes at the end of the DIP then you’re doing well with the DIP accept.I’ve done tens of Halifax mortgages in the last year and have only had an issue with 1 case after the original DIP accept.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Similarly, no idea where you heard about this ‘reputation’, it is a fallacy.I am a Mortgage Broker

Thanks for the input both.
The 'fallacy' is mentioned repeatedly on this very forum. It seemed to be very much common knowledge.0 -
Not something I recognise. I dont think ive ever had a Halifax DIP overturned for adverse info. If it gets declined its usually due to information being put in wrong.
Halifax dont generally use 'underwriters' in the traditional sense. Majority of cases are underwritten through the DIP and then someone checks the figures on the payslips match what was put in to the syste,0 -
The responses are much appreciated.I wonder if anything has changed in recent years? Because there are lots of posts stating that Halifax AIPs aren't always relaible to the full application. Even one from amnblog who seemed skeptical of what I'd read! https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5250958/halifax-aip

Yes, which is why I wondered if things had changed.
It's not like there aren't recent posts saying this either though!
