any idea what this is in my bedroom?

Hi all,
The other day I found some weird residue under my wooden desk in my bedroom. It was brown, dry, and hard to wipe off.
I've since had a look around my room, as occasionaly these little brown flecks keep popping up here and there, sometimes on the bed sheets.
I noticed a few last summer too, but they since stopped appearing over Winter. Seems to be only the hotter months.
I'd written it off as being only dust/general dirt etc but now I'm starting to think it's some kind of bug? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The first picture looks like fly droppings and the small bits of debris on the paper towels looks like vegetable matter. Do you have a tree nearby? It looks as though it could be bits of plant matter possibly blown in through a window or vent. The marks on the wood might be unsealed knots holes in the timber leaking sap - give it a thorough wipe down and see if it reappears. None of it looks indicative of bugs or any other insects (apart from flies) - fleas or bedbugs leave droppings that dissolve reddy-brown on a damp paper towel as they feed on blood. Other moths and beetles would leave damage to soft furnishings. Check your desk for woodworm if it is an older piece of furniture, but they leave sawdust not a hard residue.

I'm sure there must be something that's leaving them behind. There's also tiny black flecks which appear sometimes in the bed/desk/on papers in my room. I always thought it was dust but am not convinced.I did find a reddy-brown stain once on a cushion which was on my bed against the wall. Almost like a smear line.At this stage though I'm just talking myself into having bugs in my room - but it drives me crazy that stuff appears in my bed even after it's freshly washed.0
