    Not legally, it's just a social courtesy
    Your legal name is the one on your birth certificate (or deed poll if applicable)
    Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

    100% You do not HAVE to use your title when setting up a new payee that is checked by COP.
  • Why has this thread gone to COP - this doesn't tie in with cheque clearing rules unless I'm missing something?

    How your bank statement has changed

    Before cheque imaging, any cheque you paid into your account would show as pending until it had been cleared. This could take 2 to 6 days.

    A cheque will no longer show as pending. If it doesn’t clear by 23:59 on the next working day, the cheque has been returned unpaid.

    You’ll see a credit and debit cheque transaction. 

    You’ll also receive a letter to explain why the cheque was unpaid.
