Hi,
Anyone know if it's possible to buy a home battery powered Wifi router (i.e doesn't require mains electricity)
The phone line entry to my house is nowhere near a power socket...
If so are they powerful enough and can anyone recommend any?..
Thanks for any help.
Jon

Not for wired BB AFAIK, they exist for 4G/5G wifi reception, but, that's no good in your case.
You may have to get the electrician in to provide a new socket. Or, maybe, run an extension from an existing socket, possibly hiding the cable in some D-Line trunking.
At the end of the day, the BB router is going to be an essential item and worth the extra to get power to it. The only other alternative that comes to mind is to have the exterior cable extended and make entry to an appropriate part of the house, which it should have done to begin with.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

you could power the router using a power-over-ethernet injector/splitter down one of the ethernet cables to a PC etc.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.2
