Unorthodox buyer?

Hello MSE forum,
This is my first post so please be kind.
I am in the process of selling my car privately and a potential buyer would like to have me sell my car to particular car dealer he has a good relationship with, so he can then 'purchase the car on PCP' from them. This seems a little strange to me. I couldn't think who to ask about this apart from perhaps this forum. I appreciate your time and thoughts.
Regards
Steve.

I don’t see the issue as long as you’re happy with the price. There’s no difference to you selling into the motor trade or direct. In fact it’s probably better as you don’t have to deal with his bellyaching if something goes wrong with the car.

The details are not your problem, is the price they are offering good? Does it mean no hassle for you? If so go for it.

Sell it to the dealer if the price is right, what happens after that is none of your concern.

I suspect it won't be. I've heard of this before.
Dealers wanting to buy cheap stock direct from the public will often cook up stories like this.
As soon as you're at the "intermediate" dealer, they'll push you to breaking point to sell it well under value and when you don't, you'll get a lot of pressure from the "buyer" on the phone telling you you've let them down.

If you plan on following it through, be aware.

Why would the OP not simply hang up on the dealer once they have said no.

The dealers don't make offers over the phone, they'll want the car on site and the seller in their office were they apply the pressure for them to under sell.
Say no and walk away and both the dealer and the original "buyer" will be pestering the seller to conclude the deal.

The "buyer" isn't buying the car for themselves, they are there to get you into the dealers to sell up cheap.
