Tv licence payment
Options

I tried to set up a direct debit online but couldn't because a previous direct debit had failed. I telephoned TV licensing to explain I had been experiencing some financial troubles but was sorted now and would like to set up a payment plan. However this option wasn't available. The only option was to pay the entire year via the automated system which I can't afford right now. There didn't seem to be the option to speak to anyone and the line disconnected.
Any ideas what I can do? I want to pay but can't afford a whole year. Bit concerned I will get in trouble for being unlicensed.

Looks like you'll have to keep trying to call them to set up the Payment Card option ... or a DD you can afford ... and do be assured that they aren't chasing any non payers at the moment.
If you also write to them stating your problems briefly and asking them to call you to help sort it (keep a copy, send via Post Office for a proof of posting) then you'll have evidence you are wanting to sort it out?

Just looked at your link, thank you Rodders53. There does seem to be a few different numbers so might try them out on Monday. Unless I try to set up a new account online?0
