Advice on buying land to add a garden to our property

This may be a long winded post so please bare with me! There is no back garden to any of the 6 houses, however we have front gardens and communal areas to the front that is gated. It’s within a conservation area. I would not be able to develop this land. Also, it is a fairly small piece of land.. I’m not sure what I could even develop it into, considering it is also the back of 4 of my neighbours houses
