Niggley Little Problem

Had a great little program called Rocketdock on my desktop for a day or two now (highly recommended)...put all my desktop icons in the dock and freed up lots of space on the desktop.
Being a fan of internet radio i put quite a few radio widgets/gadgets on the desktop in the free space...(will be listening to Dale Winton on Radio 2 at 2.30 today..DON'T say a word..):o

however here's my little niggley problem...

...i have always had the desktop icon in my quick launch bar and just a click on this would take me to all the programes on my desktop...

...however now i click on it to get to my programes in Rocketdock and to get to my desktop widgets....and the desktop is completely empty!....
but i manually minimze all my running programmes in the taskbar (five or six at time)..and hey presto..there's Rocketdock and my widgets!

Any suggestions?

I haven't used RocketDock myself, but I imagine there must be some kind of "always on top" option to prevent it from being minimised...

I've been using RocketDock for a while now, and it is indeed an excellent program!

In the dock settings under position make sure layering is set to "always on top", and then under behaviour turn on "autohide" and "popup on mouseover".

This will make rocketdock only appear when you put your mouse to the side of the screen (which ever side rocketdock is docked to), and it will always be accessible on top of other programs, so you won't need to go to the desktop to use it.

As for the widgets, the show desktop link in quick launch just forces all running applications to minimise, it sounds like your widget program is being minimised along with everything else, what widget program are you using?

Thanks for the replys  I managed to workaround this little prob by using the fourth (side) button on my Logitech mouse..it gives the option to "minimize all" which when i do.... leaves all my widgets and Rocketdock on the desktop. :T....

in answer to your question..i am using Vistas gadgets/widgets

Ah, then that's easy, windows key+space bar brings the gadgets to the front ;)
