Morning, if anyone could help I'd be very grateful.
2 days ago we purchased a ford smax. Advert stated that it's had a full service new spark plugs excellent condition for age few age related marks 6 months mot. We look over the car all looks great test drive went well. We purchased the car. On the way home approx 4 miles from where the car came from engine management light comes on and loses some power. As soon as we get home we rang the seller explained what happened he's sounded genuine says that it's happened before and was the throttle body sensor sent us picture of where it was etc. Asked us if we wanted to return for a refund or to get it looked at first. We've asked if it was OK to take to our mechanic to get diagnostics done and let him know. This was fine diagnostics came back saying coil pack needed replacing the bloke agreed to send us the money to get this fixed in the hope it was just that. Coil pack was replaced but then injector needed doing no changes after so we had a compression test done which has came back saying cylinder 4 has no compression. Our mechanic has said he could keep going to fix this however costs will mount and he just doesn't feel it can be sorted. We contacted original seller explaining that after having the coil pack done it come back with more problems and if it was still OK we will take the car back. We've now had a full turn and he's refusing. Going through paperwork with a fine tooth comb we have found that the not ran out in May however due to covid 19 has the government extension of 6 months. There's also a couple of other things that actually doesn't match description of the advert. I know we don't have as many rights as we would if this was a trade sell but do we have any rights at all?

what is a full turn? You should have taken up the offer of a refund when it was offered instead of incurring further costs.0

If it was a private purchase, why is the seller even bothering to talk to you? You basically buy it at your risk unless the seller described something dishonestly.
