When is the official end of school month for a 18 yr old?

When my child turned 16 I confirmed to CTC and Child Benefit they were staying on in the 6th form to do Alevels which would take place 2020. They turned 18 in Feb and A level results are due August. their last exam should have been yesterday but obv they were cancelled but they still are in contact with school via email and group help chats until results day. So when do I ring CTC and CB and tell them they left school is it when should have done exams in June or August results day when they are off the school register? I know they are aware they are leaving this year because in August my payments for CTC reflect this and are lower. So do I still need to ring and as wondered above when is the official month or day they leave school so I can tell them? I have tried to find the answer and couldn't so wondered if anyone else had gone through this and got any feedback. Thank you in advance.

Payment continuing to the end of August is correct and unless they start working you won't need to ring them to report any changes. Payments automatically stop, unless you report them staying on in full time non advanced education.
