Using works with Alexa on Toshiba television

Just bought a toshiba 55ul2b63db television but don’t know how to use The Alexa.  I’ve linked the Alexa with my account but my amazon echo does not recognise the  tv device.   I have given a friendly name on the tv for Alexa to IInk up commands but a bit stuck now and tv  Alexa nit working.  Do I need a microphone or does it use the amazon echo dot.?  Any help appreciated.   Not much information in the online handbook.

Just to try and clarify a few points
a) Your Echo Dot and Toshiba TV are connected to the same WiFi network?
b) You have successfully connected and registered the Toshiba with your amazon account, and named it something like "TV"
c) You have enabled the Toshiba Alexa skill
Once you've done this, you should be able to do things like (speaking to the Echo Dot), Alexa turn on TV

Please note apparently you may also need the Toshiba Smart Centre App installed as well

I’ve tried to install toshiba smart app but error at communication with tv message and just goes around.  I have tv smart tv but that Device is offline On Alexa app.

Have you tried with just the TV on and the Alexa off?

Are they definitely on the same wifi network?

Great it’s working.   Do I still need the toshiba smart app as that is still not connecting to the tv.   Thanks for your help.  I knew someone on here would have the answers.

I'm fairly certain that once its all setup you don't need the toshiba smart app.
