Military Personnel in Service Accommodation Credit Card

I am in the process of what will be an expensive divorce.  I am in the military and currently living in military accommodation.  I applied online for a 0% spending credit card to pay legal fees but could only get 15 months thru Virgin.  Was hoping for a 24 month one from M&S.  Can anyone advise if it's the military accommodation that's the problem or of any other options for 0% credit.  Many thanks

Have you applied to Virgin already or is it used a eligibility checker? While postcode may effect it slightly its other items on your credit history that also sway the decision.

There’s no guarantees so you are best of just applying. But I’d be careful of making too many applications within a few months.

My credit score is above 900 hence I thought it must be military (rented) accommodation that was the problem.  I have applied to Virgin so will wait a few months before applying for another one, thank you.

Your score of 900 means nothing as no lender uses it, they each have there own scoring method to decide if you fit the type of customer they want to lend to. A Bankrupt can have a score of 999 so what does that tell you about the fictional number you see?

What you should be checking is what’s on your report and that it’s correct, your BFPO might be an issue for some lenders.

I don’t know who you Bank with possibly check with them to see if you can get a credit card with them.

If it’s Holts Military banking they are part of the RBS group and may have a suitable card for Military personnel.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
