Insuring a newly built Annex

Hi,
We have built an annex, it is not connected to the house it is 4 foot away, we are struggling to find anyone to insure the house and the Annex, it will be used for a family member, not rented out, can anyone help please?

    A good insurance broker will be able to sort it out.

    Mine is insured with Adrian flux, and previous to that home protect

    careful with adrian flux, they have alot of extra charges in their T+C, be aware of what your signing up

    Is that not just an outbuilding?
    Here's a definition i found at random

    Home
    The house or flat and its outbuildings (including garages), at the address shown on your schedule, all used for domestic purposes only.

    My guess would be that outbuildings are considered as building not for occupation.

    Yes, that makes sense.  Planning rules seem to be around occupation
