Best GPS for a mobille phone

Which GPS app would you recommend for an Android phone?
I've been using Gogle Maps all the time, however they are getting worse and worse with that app constantly losing signal.
I thought the issue was with my network so have changed it, but that didn't help.
Many thanks

Losing mobile phone signal is down to the phone or the network. If you're losing GPS signal that's down to the phone or your location.
    The app is innocent!

Or make sure that your phone downloads the map before you set off.  That way it doesn't matter if you lose cellular coverage.

If you want something that's offline, then Sygic.

Another vote for sygic if you want a basic downloadable maps system.

Only downside is no direction instruction with the free version and it reminds you regularly that you need to update to premium for turn by turn instructions.

Try Waze, it’s built on Google maps but might work.

If it's for driving - Waze is great - can also be used for walking. You still need phone signal and gps for it to work perfectly though - download it and give it a  try.

I like Osmand+ for offline navigation, it's quick to setup and use. You can download regional maps which saves a lot of space if you don't want maps of the whole of the UK.

Struggling to understand why the OP needs SAt Nav their car is off the road (accident)  and through stubbornness that is likely to remain the case for the foreseeable.
