Contents insurance for uk property

Can someone help me please. We became Spanish residents last year but have a property in UK where we need to insure contents. Saga, who we were insured with, cannot cover us because we are not UK residents. Our son lives in the property and looks after it for us but because he does not own the property or contents Saga wont insure him either. We are still British citizens. Does anyone know of an insurance company who would insure us for contents only. Thanks in advance.

Is there a reason why you can't get your son to take out the policy if he lives there and you refund him? This sounds overly complicated.

Surely this is a commonplace scenario for landlord insurance policies?

And the ownership issues?

According to Saga, because he is not the owner they cannot insure him. We are not actually landlords, he doesn't pay rent, just the bills. I must admit I haven't tried any other providers. Thought someone on the forum might know oor have been in the same position.
