Can someone please explain piggyback and quidco? How do I get a Nectar card? I have seen them mentioned but don't know where to get them. What is this about surveys? I would love to join in, but don't know where to begin.Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time0

Hi everyone
Well im visiting family in the UK at the moment... and have realised i have a £3.50 tesco voucher and about £4 on a boots card i used before going away...
so im going to pop the equivalent money into a pot towards pressies.. not a lot i know-but it all helps
Oh and i have 33 "beans" off the nescafe jars so ican send for some freebies
I have also made a start on a knitted polar bear for another pressie.. and have been given a bottle of Baileys that i will never get through.. so have to decide if it would be ungrateful to save it and give it away ?
I have also got a note book so i can keep a track of anything i am getting for pressies.. its only little bits, but it will all add up ....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Hi. Welcome to the challenge.
The main Pigsback support thread is HERE. The first three posts give you all the info you need to start earning points for vouchers and other rewards! :j
www.quidco.com is a cashback site. You need to register with them and click on that site before you go shopping online and for most retailers you can earn a small commission back on any purchases you make. You can also make money with some offers where no spending is needed. See HERE for the current offers.
There are lots of sites online where you get paid for taking part in online market research. Most of them are listed HERE. Most only pay out at a certain level and only pay a small amount per survey but it does add up eventually if you are online anyway!
As for Nectar cards, you can apply for one online at www.nectar.com and use it to collect points in Sainsburys, Debenhams and a few other stores.0 -
MRSMCCRAWER - you know, you can order from amazon - less VAT and get Nectarpoints too! They are usually cheaper then the NAFFII wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0

hi
Nectar card you get from sainsburys, use that in store + they do offers which include telephoneing certain companies and get credited money.
Also I use Tesco clubcard and Boots card (rewards 4p in £1.00 back).
Re cashbacks,
I use Mutual Points - daily free clicks as well as points back from buying from them
Greasy Palm - again go through their link to sites and they credit you % cash back, plus you can do daily clicks - extra money
Quidco - same as Mutual points
Surveys - there a bot hit and miss, eg caio they pay 10p for a 20 min survey.
Hope that starts you off. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Have just realised, I have a present already bought and paid for my son, but he is getting too much for Christmas so am planning on keeping it for his birthday (Feb). As I paid for it last summer, do I still count it as 2008 expenses/costs? I wasn't planning to but not sure if I'm doing right.Credit card €7892.36/€ 0

Thankyou KBL
That makes me feel better about it... I just can't see the point in opening it for 1 drink and then hubby shoving it in his coffee just for the sake of it!!
So it will be going back to Germany with us unopened and i will get a storage crate out and start putting my xmas bits in there:T ....
I would have thought that as you have allready paid for the pressie out of 2007s money, it would count as "free" for 2008 just the same as using up cards and wrapping paper you allready have-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Thanks!! In that case....there is a lot of stuff in my house that I didn't think was enough for presents, but I've been reading the thread on finished baskets (btw, absolutely wonderful, you all should be really proud:T ) and I prob have enough bits and pieces to be the basis for at least four for next year, so will give that a go.
As for recycling at it's best, almost got caught out yesterday, my husband gets given a lot of bottles from customers at work (usually whiskey or wine). Got a lovely looking bottle of whiskey in a circular presentation case, and thought that would be a great pressie for a couple who always give us a present but we hardly know them (it's at least €30 worth, gorge bottle). Had it in a xmas (recycled) bag ready and all, when my hubby decided to look at the actual bottle, the company had the label reprinted "Happy Xmas from C******s":D . Just how caught would I have been!!! Now just got to figure out what to do with the whiskey, neither of us drink it, but the label means we can't exchange it for anything else at the offy either  (Does that sound really ungrateful????)
Sorry about the long windedness of the story, am trying to stay awake, cos I have to go to work at 1. Will be ok when I get there, it's the time between now and then that's hard.Credit card €7892.36/€ 0
