Redundancy and furlough

I work for a major employer in Belfast that has recently announced big joe losses.it has currently got a sizeable amount of employees on furlough.as hr1 has only been lodged and it will take a while for at risk or redundancy letters to come out and when they do is the company legally allowed to place employees on furlough who are in working full time thus only paying 80% of wage instead of employee earning full pay for duration of notice,I know that this will not affect any redundancy monies entitled to but be interested in some form of clarity,many thanks
