Entering By Post | Omaze UK
Maximum one entry per postcard
Click here to check out our entry bundles starting at just £5 and help support Teenage Cancer Trust.
Omaze offers an alternative means of entering into prize draws. The process for using this alternative means of entry is described in detail below. Just like the paid method of entering the prize draw, this alternative method requires you to accept all our terms and conditions. On a blank sheet of paper, or postcard, write your name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address and which prize draw you want to enter. For example, 'Omaze Million Pound House Draw- Cheshire', or, 'Omaze Million Pound House Draw- London'.
This needs to be written down in very clear writing otherwise the entry may be deemed invalid.
We have appointed Civica Election Services, formerly known as Electoral Reform Services (ERS), as our independent scrutineers to administer this competition. They have over 100 years’ experience in administering elections, ballots and competitions for a wide range of clients including TV programmes and various lottery projects. Please send the sheet of paper in an envelope to the following address via either first or second class post to:
Address:
Omaze Scrutineers
Civica Election Services
33 Clarendon Road
London
N8 0NW
A maximum of one entry can be made per postcard or envelope received. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be made this way. Once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered into the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing. For the avoidance of any doubt, if the postcard states that the entrant would like to enter the Omaze Million Pound House Draw- Cheshire, and that entrant writes their details as described above, then just as with any one paid entry, this postcard would count for one entry into each Early Bird Prize Draw, one entry into the £1,000 Weekly Cash Draw each week and one entry into the Grand Prize Draw to win the Million Pound House + 2,020 additional prizes. Postal entries are treated in exactly the same way as paid entries for the purposes of determining a winner. However, there is a difference in the deadlines for entries. All of our draws (weekly £1,000, Early Bird & House plus 2,020 others) close at midnight on Fridays for online entry. The corresponding cut-off for postal entries will be that they are received and processed before 5pm on the following Tuesday (see Official Rules for dates). Postal entries have an equal chance of winning as any one paid entry. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize. If the above steps are not followed as described then a postal entry will be invalid. You will not be notified if your entry is invalid.

Given that 2nd class post costs 65p in most cases would be cheaper to enter this by the paid-for route.2

Although, @rw101, in this case I would not recommend the paid entry, because it is over the MSE recommendation of £2.10 for a paid entry.

Not on the page I'm looking at - look at the entry page for the Cheshire house.
67p per entry if you buy 15, 63p per entry if you buy 40, etc. Remember you are only getting one ticket per postal entry which costs a minimum of 65p plus the postcard plus the bother of filling it out and sending it off, plus you have the uncertainty of whether your postal entries are treated as valid. On top of that the odds on a single ticket winning must be 1 in 1.5 million or worse in the unlikely event that the competition sold enough tickets to cover the cost of the prize.1 -
Paid route works out cheaper, sometimes I get emails saying if I enter by this date I will get free bonus entries on top, but with the paid route you need to spend a minimum x amount whereas with postal you can just send one postcard/letter. I’d like to point out one thing, with omaze the main prize will be won irrespective of the number of tickets sold.1

If this competition seems unreal there is a reason for that.
Try reading the terms & conditions. The promoter Omaze does everything it can to obscure the finances of its operation, but it seems that for a prize worth £1 million plus the associated sub-prizes Omaze would have to raise around £2 million to cover the costs of sourcing the prize, marketing, transaction costs, donation to charity (which by the way is only 15% of the net proceeds), and Omaze profit share. With the actual cost of individual paid-for entries close to 50p that means that the chances of a single ticket winning the prize are around one in four million in the unlikely event of the financial target being reached.
And that's assuming the prize is ever awarded - the T&Cs contain so many exclusions and back door routes that allow the promoter to alter or substitute the prize or to disqualify a 'winner' that the chances of someone actually winning are effectively zero. Even the writing of this forum post would be enough to disqualify a 'winner' (see 'Cheshire House Rules / General Conditions').
All high value prize based competitions should be viewed with extreme scepticism. Many are never intended to deliver an actual prize because achieving the required ticket sales is completely unrealistic. They are more often online promotions designed at best to raise some quick cash for the promoter using a fancy prize as bait, and at worst to harvest emails and bank details.

I don’t need to try reading the T&C’s I’ve already done that. I’m going by their reputation and the fact that they’ve already awarded several large prizes, they’re also endorsed by several reputable celebs and also both the charities teenage cancer trust and British heart foundation have links on their website directing to omaze. They are also using a reputable firm to draw the winner. The chances of winning is very slim hence the reason I would only enter a small number of times to only give me a chance albeit an extremely small chance of winning. If you look at their FAQ’s (see below)
Will someone definitely win the house?
Yes. There will be a guaranteed winner for the Omaze Million Pound House Draw. For announcement dates, please see Official Rules.
I don’t plan on entering anymore, just needed to be in it to win it. I’ve taken note of the draw date and that’ll be all for me. If they do infact extend the deadline for the Cheshire house draw then I’ll cut my losses (which is very small) and won’t be entering in their draws again other than their free comps.

Your choice. There are so many misleading and evasive claims on the promoter's website I would say their FAQs are effectively worthless.
If someone comes on here and says they've won something I'll eat my hat.

Hopefully it’ll be me. There is omaze.com site which you can enter for free online without the need to send your entry via post.1
