Scottish Power issues

Scottish Power are a total nightmare! My sister moved house in March for medical reasons and hoped to simply transfer her existing tariff and direct debit. No chance! They switched her to a much dearer tariff and set up TWO new accounts - hence double bills!! They have sent her TWENTY-SIX letters in 14 weeks, including threatening debt-collectors for money already paid. Can't get away quick enough. Compensation? They have actually offered her £15 off her bill!0

ianross - when you move house you can't take your existing supplier and tariff with you.
First, you cancel the supplier at the old house and get a final bill.
Second when you move into the new house you contact the supplier there, give meter readings and then you are free to switch.
Anything else results in confusion.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
My account with extra Energy was handed to Scottish Power when EE went bust. Scottish Power never set the account up correctly even though we did everything correctly at our end. After a long-winded complaint, they gave us a complaints handler. He seemed to know exactly what to do. We had been charged £494.00 two months running, which put us in financial difficulty. The handler told us to perform a reverse payment for the two months installments (£988), he then said that the outstanding balance was to be spread over the remainder of the contract and the cost would be £340/month which was to include usage. he followed this up with an email giving us the instructions. We followed the instructions and asked our bank manager to perform the reverse payment for £988, which he did. Several weeks later, Scottish Power contacted our bank stating that they never authorized the reverse payment, so the transaction was reversed back to them. But that is fraud..(definition of fraud... the act of obtaining monies by deception) . the company clawed back the funds by deception... telling the bank that they never authorized the transaction is a lie... the email proves it. I complained to the ombudsman, but they refuse to comment as fraud is a criminal act. I contacted Action Fraud who said that they cannot do anything as Scottish power is a 'high profile company' (their words). I am staggered that a company of this magnitude can get away with committing fraud in such a blatant manner and nobody is prepared to do anything about it! Everything mentioned is documented, but nobody is interested! I know this is a small amount of money, but that is not a reason to turn a blind eye. If anything, being a company of this size, Ofgem should be jumping all over it! So what can I do?
