Childcare & Fees

My employers have demanded me and my husband return to work. Whilst my childminder is open to my nursery age child she is saying she can't open to my eldest child as per government guidelines. I have therefore been forced to find alternative childcare for both children. As the government guidelines state you can't send a child to two settings I was wondering if this meant my original childminder is therefore closed to me as per guidelines even though they are open. They can't offer me the services I require for both children. Do I still have to pay for the fees to the original Childminder for the nursery age child.

No it doesn’t mean your original childminder is closed to you, she can still provide care to the nursery age child but (and I can see why you have done it) are choosing to send them elsewhere. So the fees would be correctly payable in this case.... I’m assuming though you are moving the child permanently and this will only be an issue in this particular month.
