Ive dug out 8" deep of old mud that runs alongside our side pathway and want to concrete it so it can be used for storage. What mix do i need of concrete for the path?
I was going to whack down 4"- 6" of type 1 then level it with concrete, is this right?

One part cement to five or six parts ballast (a mix of sharp sand & gravel).Don't pour concrete right up to the house. You should leave a gap of around 200mm and fill the space with gravel and ensure the level is 150mm or so below the DPC. If well away from any buildings, you can ignore this.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
