Who was the flight with? Flight refunds are taking many months, so your friends may need to be patient.
How did you pay?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Jet2 was suppose to refund me £588 I have emailed several times with no reply when I was on the phone to the lady she asked for my card details as my parents “expired” when his doesn’t expire till 2022. So she took £588 from my bank instead of putting it in leaving me overdrawn with my bank. I had to call the company to tell them they took money instead of giving it me back. Now the money went in 16th June 2020 but due to Jet2’s mistake and me going into an overdraft the bank had taken all my money I’ve contacted the bank and they will not give me my money back. So they have stolen off me both jet2 and Santander. I think the police are going to have to be involved. Please help me!0

Hi Folks, don't quite know where I stand with the dreaded Ryanair refund. We were supposed to fly to Alicante with RA on 17th March for a short 4 day break. Spain went into lockdown on the weekend of Mar 14. The FCO also announced that Spain was on the list for all but essential travel only as of Mar 14. Now the tricky part. We followed FCO advice & did not travel. Ryanair however decided in their wisdom that the outbound flight should go ahead and so it departed for Spain on the 17th Mar. We then received an email stating the return flight was cancelled ( even though we didnt travel) & we could apply for a refund. We have since applied for this refund but RA are stating we are only entitled to the part of the ticket which was cancelled (return leg). Question is are we entitled to full cost outbound & return. Have RA pulled a fast one by still sending flights out after Spanish lockdown & FCO advice. All help greatly appreciated0

The £588 was an unauthorized transaction, so it should have been reversed and any fees you incurred refunded.
As that hasn't happened you need to raise a complaint with your bank.

You can get your money back for all parts of the ticket you haven’t used. For instance, if you have booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost of the return ticket back from your airline.
