Hi folks.
I have an eight year old pc which is showing its age and, amongst other vices, is refusing to load properly at startup 9 times out of ten.
Basically, I'm looking to replace it - but not my monitor, printer etc which, as far as I can see, are functioning fine.
I have minimal requirements for a pc - I need internet surfing but am not greatly into downloads of any kind. I need word processing. That's about it.
I have heard of 'mini pcs'. I have heard that Dell are quite good. Such is the extent of my tiny knowledge.
Anyone out there able to help a lady?

How about a second-hand pc? So many people are going for laptops that there must be lots of used desktops for sale.0

Look here http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/pcranges.html
They give excellent customer service, you can buy just the tower, and if you got any question, the live chat facility allows you to get the answer straight away.0 -
as spakkker points out if you just need a basic pc for office stuff and surfing have a look at some of the second hand ones out there - an amd athlon 64 based system (older socket 939) should be fairly cheap.
And before anyone starts to shout about upgradeability - what do they need to upgrade it for? And if they keep it for as long as their old one it's not going to be upgradable anyway.0 -
I'm always into money-saving but if you haven't bought a PC in 8 years I think you should treat yourself to a new one. With the prices of PCs these days you can get a fairly decent one for just over £300.
