I did wonder ... and would explain why the OP is somewhat blasé about it rather than full-on meltdown panic mode. :)

Would that not be reflected on the V5C?
Not if it was limited to cosmetic enhancements, wheels, interior accessories and so on.  The V5 would only need to be different if 'Overfinch' was listed as the manufacturer or if modifications changed the engine size or structure.  Changing a car's appearance doesn't generally, unless you've added extra axles or something, matter to the DVLA.  Change of colour does, but then that doesn't usually affect the insurance.
It would only be listed on the V5 as an Overfinch if the original dealer registered it as such. It matters not what mods it has.
  • If it's the OP's company and the OP decided to buy the car (because it looked nice) as a company car, then the OP should have made sure the person dealing with company car insurance knew it had an Overfinch bodykit.

Cosmetically, there is a huge difference between a standard RR and one with an Overfinch bodykit. I don't think a judge would accept you didn't know it was modified. Also, I'm fairly sure the dealer would have told you it was not a standard car. There are lots of insurers who won't insure modified cars. You will need to check your proposal documents and policy very carefully but it looks like you have made a very expensive mistake.

Come on, you will have known it had body kit fitted - did you not wonder why it looked so different to other Range Rooneys out there?

The Overfinch kit makes it massively more desirable, and by checking ‘no’ to modifications you’ve just cost yourself a fair whack.

It doesn’t matter who sold it to you; it’s on you to declare something as glaringly obvious as a body kit and not to tick ‘no’ to save a few quid.

You tried to cheap out, it didn’t work. It’s a lesson - declare any modifications, even if you didn’t fit them!

Did the fact it had overfinch on the bonnet instead of range rover not give it away? And was it just a body kit? Overfinch aren't just a styling house - dont they also do some serious engine mods?

Looking at their website, it appears to be the case that they used to do engine modifications but stopped doing so about 10 years ago.
If the prices for an Overfinch RR here:
    https://stock.overfinch.com/used-cars/
are anything to go by, I can see why the insurers don't want to pay out. Up to 250k for a tarted up Range Rover :o

I can't believe that the dealership did not mention it was an Overfinch RR.., or the description.  Lets face it, they go on and on about anything that will press buttons to make you buy a particular car.

Nor can I, especially as said dealer's website describes the place as a 'leading Overfinch dealer'.
