"Did you book your trip with a Deposit?"
"You can cancel your booking at any time from your customer account. However , if there are no travel restrictions affecting your trip/destination at the time of cancelling, your cancellation request will be subject to the standard terms and conditions for cancelling. We will notify you of these fees before proceeding."

This is taken from the Last Minute.com website.
Have they dropped a major bollock here as I read that as if you are cancelling now due to the FCO advice no fees should be payable - or have I missed something ?

It simply states that their standard cancelling fees/T&Cs apply if there are no travel restrictions at the time of cancelling.

The paragraph does not cover the situation where there are current FCO restrictions in place. That is just your assumption, that the opposite statement is true (restrictions in place now -> no cancelling fees for travel booked for a later date)... but the LM site is misleading too... they should probably add a paragraph next to that, that explains what happens if you cancel with restrictions in place now.

This paragraph relates to a section "Did you Book your trip with a Deposit ?"
Surely the key phrase is "time of cancelling" - now - there are restrictions in place.
If it said "time of travel" that would be different.
In my view a reasonable interpretation of what it actually states in a section devoted to "Covid 19 Everything you need to know" is that you are able to cancel free of penalty if there are restrictions in place at the time of cancelling.
