EPC
Hi, I need some advice with EPC. We travelled to Portugal last year, hired 2 cars both fitted with the black auto pay toll boxes. However after returning home the rental company said our credit cards hadn’t worked for the toll payments, strange as they’d worked for payment of everything else to do with the cars. We were told to log onto the toll website to pay the fines. We did this but the website said “vehicle not found” for both cars. I wrote to the rental company, the toll payment company and also Portogens. I went round in circles, nobody answered my questions of how to pay and what we owed. A year later I have now received a threatening letter from EPC with fines for late payment added to the tolls. Have tried to make contact to say happy to pay what we owe for the tolls but not fines as we’d spent considerable time trying to pay with no answers. They’re not listening to me and just keep sending a letter asking for payment, no acknowledgment of my reasons for non payment.
