Looking likely that my work place will shut permanently due to covid.
I'm not entitled to redundancy as I've worked for them for just under 1 year. I am due to start my maternity leave on July 1st. My question is, if they close permanently, would I still be entitled to maternity pay from the government? I cant seem to find a straight answer online.

Yes, either way you're entitled to maternity pay. There are two structures, depending on how long you worked for your employer. Check your eligibility on the Gov' website. At the bottom of the Statutory Maternity Page, it says to call HMRC if your employer is unable to pay you and/or is insolvent.
Alternatively you'll be entitled to Maternity Allowance directly from the Gov'.
I would provide you with links but I'm a newbie so unable to.1 -
