Question Regarding Furlough

is there any way to check I am registered on the furlough scheme - I was put on for the whole of May but my employer told me from June I was back at work for 2 days per week and they are going to pay me the same as the furlough payment (80% of salary), they now want me to do 3 days per week and pay me the 80% of my salary.  I'm not convinced I am being paid by my employer I think I am still registered as being furloughed and if that is the case and it is discovered by HMRC or whoever administers the system will I have to repay the payments made to me erroneously?

You can be on furlough, then return to work and then back to furlough.  Each period of furlough has to be minimum of 3 weeks.

There are new rules coming from 1st July that will permit flexible furlough.

It sounds as though your furlough stopped from 1st June, when you started working 2 days per week, but you say you are still being paid 80%.  If the employer only paid you for days worked, that would be 40% (assuming normal 5 day working week).
You will now be doing 3 days per week, but paid 80%.  Three days is 60%
It could well be that the work is slowly ramping back up and the employer is taking a 'hit' on salary costs until the work is back at 4 days (80%), and then the next step will be 5 days and 100% salary.

I am surprised by the number of threads where the default stance from the OP is that there must be something dodgy going on.  The level of trust must be very low.

Furlough grant is claimed by the employer and the employer is liable if claimed incorrectly, not the employee.

many thanks for your help - that has put my mind at rest somewhat - and yes its a pity that I feel this way about my employer.

What did you agree to that all that matters with regard to pay, if they are claiming for you and you do not know about it, then it is not your problem. Unless you actually do the payroll how is an employee meant to know what an employer claims for.
