No gas at property we want to buy. What next? Do we pay? Does transco/British Gas pay?

If Cadent is your distributor be aware that their pricing is a bit 'variable'. Our neighbours (attached to our house) were quoted thousands for the connection so they didn't bother. When we told them that ours cost £400 they went back to Cadent and miraculously their price came right down.

If you know where your nearest gas line is and can measure from there to your cadent will give a price. I paid £400 and it was a reasonable job, not extortionate. They have all the advice on the website and even have the maps to show where your nearest gas main is. Well they used to anyway.0
