Hotel refund refused quoting Force Majeure, is this right

Hi can anyone advise. I was due to travel to Brussels's 6/4/2020. Got refunds from trains, and Eurostar without any issues Easy Hotel only offered 50% which i accepted on 31/3/2020. After several e-mails chasing them up they are now saying they are reviewing my refund and it will be issued according to the force majeure policy? Any advice would be appreciated

What have they actually said? Do you mean "issued" or "refused"?
  • Originally they offered me 50% refund, i accepted this as I didn't have free cancellation so i thought this was fair. I have chased this refund several times and been told that it will get refunded but things are taking longer than usual. The wording of their last e-mail states. We understand this is a difficult situation for you, but please be sure you will be refunded according to the Force Majeure policy, we will notify you if your refund status has changed?? That was 18/5/2020 and ive still not heard anything else

What does the Force Majeure policy say in the Ts&Cs?

If they're refunding you in line with force majeure then that sounds like a full refund will be on it's way.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Yes. Force majeure would be all or nothing, and it doesn't sound like nothing.
