Price Drop - Boots

Hi all,
I purchased a fragrance from Boots online on Monday. It was £40. I've placed the order and it will be delivered next week.
I've just had a look online again. The same fragrance is now £20 but it's out of stock. If it was in stock, I would buy another one and return the full priced one.
Am I able to phone up and ask to be charged the lower price? I remember seeing something similar to this on Martin's ITV show about clothes going on clearance and the customer having some kind of rights. I could be wrong though.
Thanks.

Yes you're able and they may say yes. They may not agree to doing so though, so your choices would be to stick with it or cancel the order and wait for the next sale.1

I can offer the same fragrance for only £10. I have not got any stock but as soon as I do have it goes up to £40.00mimi1234 said:Hi all,

Promotions only usually have a certain amount of stock at that price. Once they have sold that number of units it goes out of stock.
All you can do is ask.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -
I asked just now. It didn't register with her at all. She couldn't understand what I was asking of her.
I'll see if I can return them to a store and buy them back at the cheaper price.
Thanks anyway.0 -
Does the Boots website have the facility for you to register an interest in an out of stock item and they e-mail you when it's back in stock?
If so, it would be worth doing this and when your £40 fragrance arrives, keep it safe and unopened for a week or two whilst waiting.1 -
I don't think it does. It just says keep looking regularly as it should be back.
I know they did this with Xmas gift sets last year. They kept dropping the prices, went down to £20. I bought 2. A day later they went down to £8.50. I managed to get one at the cheaper price so returned the other one.
Maybe the price drop was a final clearance and they won't come back. Who knows. I will keep looking.
Thanks all.0 -
I'm assuming that if the fragrance had gone up the following week by £20 you would be fleet footing it over to boots to hand over an extra £20?1

But that wouldn't be an attempt at saving money, the thing that that Moneysavingexpert.com is designed for.Paully28 said:I'm assuming that if the fragrance had gone up the following week by £20 you would be fleet footing it over to boots to hand over an extra £20?1
