Home insurance - No Claims Discount after moving house

Options
If you've lived in a house for 20+ yrs, then move house, when insuring the new house does previous NCD count or is it irrelevant because you're now starting a policy on a new property?
Just to make it even more complicated, what if you haven't sold the previous property yet so basically its insurance is still based on historic NCD?

I don't think it seems to make a huge amount of difference but it seems daft to lose previous good-standing, but on the other hand I can see how they'd argue whether you start again.
Thanks!

If you have accumulated NCD on one property it is transferrable to next.

It should be allowed on one property, the one you are living in.

LOL Not as such. Not like cars with 9yrs etc. So no certificate.

But you do get asked by any new insurance company. How many years without a claim. So it must mean something in £££s

Suspect the person that has a claim every year will pay more than some.
