Daft update breaks Aqua app

New Day have just updated their Android app for their Aqua credit card - and broken it !
Instead of just entering three digits, it now requires your User Name and a One Time Passcode.  However, GCHQ have warned banks not to send OTPs via text messages because the system is inherently insecure, victims having lost substantial amounts.   And obviously if the app is on your phone and it's stolen, the OTP will go to the thief instead of the card holder.  Sadly, NewDay think they know better and have chosen to ignore GCHQ's advice.
Worst of all, the app just stops...  every time.

    It’s advice only. Not a hard set rule so it’s
    down to each lender.

    The iOS app is unchanged apparently and still uses digits from your security code.
