My Furlough is ending on this date. Correct?

Hi.
I previously worked for a well known garage but left on the 06/03/20. After contacting my employer, they agreed to Furlough me from the 25/03/20. Have now received a letter from the company on the 03/06/20 informing me that the Furlough process will come to a ending for myself on the 12/06/20 because the company garage has now reopened. Shouldn't my Furlough still continue till October by the Government?
Any details would be appreciated.

Your ex-employer did you a massive favour by taking you back on, with all due respect you have been very lucky to get three months out of it. No, they don't have to carry you on until October, especially when the scheme is changing from August onwards.

If they are reopening 12th June and taking all current employees off it, they aren't going to keep one ex-employee on it. Sorry.

No - it's entirely up to the employer if, when and for how long they furlough an employee, as long as any furlough is for a minimum period of three weeks (if they wish to reclaim the money from the government).

Your "former" employer was doing you a favour by agreeing to furlough you because you did actually leave on 6/3/2020. The garage has now opened so your furlogh is to end. I'm not sure why you think it should continue until October because you left employment. If you were still employed by them then you would be returning to work.

You are very fortunate that the garage agreed to the furlough that they have.  As the garage has re-opened, do you have any opportunity to go back there?  They must think reasonably well of you to have even bothered doing the furlough.

Also, furlough will cost the employer from 1st August so extending until October is very unlikely.  Even now, it theoretically costs them accrued annual leave, but not sure how that applies for someone who left anyway.

Why do you think your furlough should continue to October? When it was announced that employers are going to have to start paying towards it.
