After taking 8 weeks to finally set up my husband as LPA on his dad's bank accounts, they have only given him telephone banking access when he requested internet banking.  He has been to the branch about 4 times after being told that he needed to take ID in that he had taken in when he first registered.  Then the code failed and now itnis only for telephone access. Today, he was told as as there is more than 1 LPA (they are joint and several), they will not allow internet access. This is rather inconvenient to say the least. I was under the impression that all LPAs would be treated the same and have the same access his dad would have had.  Is this right?

Possibly Covid 19 has meant specialised or trained staff dealing with PoA are scarce. Give them a break - does the other LPA holder have internet access or telephone banking? If so use it for now.
When things are back to 'normal' try again.

One ifnthem dies but the others are preparing to report her to the OPG for abuse of her LPA.  As for giving them a break, their incompetence has been breathtaking. My husband has been down to the branch many times and pushed from pillar to post and given different answers every time he tries to sort it out. Patience has worn thin now. Virus or no virus, it should not be this difficult. We expected it to take a bit longer but it has been an absolute shambles.
