IVA advice please

Options
Hi guys, long post warning!

I had a car crash a few weeks ago and wrote off my car, I received £1880 from my insurance. I emailed Aperture to advise them of this and that I would need to purchase a car ASAP as I need to get to work. A few days later I bought a car for £2100, I needed a reliable car as I commute 66 miles a day, 4-5 times a week to work. I then received an email from Aperture a couple of days later saying that I needed to gain permission to purchase a car, I emailed back with proof of what I had received from the insurance and the purchase of my new car and explained I needed to purchase it straight away to continue working. I stated that I had used ‘savings’ to pay the remainder of the car, I shouldn’t of used this word as I don’t actually have savings as I know that isn’t allowed but on my expenditure it does state I can have £15 a month for emergencies. So now they have said I’m not allowed savings (which I don’t have) and that they now need to get in touch with the creditors to discuss the fact I bought a car with my ‘windfall’.
They have also now asked for a new income/expenditure and proof which I have just uploaded.
My current payment is £85 a month, it was set to increase to £176 in November when I finished my finance one car. However, now I no longer have that payment but with my new expenditures I have £132 surplus a month. Will they still expect £176 in November? Because with my petrol and insurance going up I will not be able to afford that.
They also ended the email with after receiving the documents they would set up a variation meeting, can anyone advise what this is?

Im now worried they are going to cancel my IVA and I’ll be back to square one and wasted a year and a half paying nothing towards the original debt.

Thanks in advance!
Any advice/help would be much appreciated!

    Hi,
Don't over commit to the IVA, if you cannot afford to increase your payment then make your budget look like it, doesn’t matter what they want, if it’s unaffordable then say so.
Its not in anyone’s interest to cancel the arrangement, if your payment needs to increase or decrease a variation meeting must be held to agree to it.

I agree with the above. You probably shouldn't have gone ahead with the new car without permission but I would have done the same as you. Everything should be sorted in the variation meeting. Don't be pushed into a payment you can't afford.
