On Secondment & under threat of Redundancy

Hello
i am partway through a 12 month secondment and currently furloughed.
During a conference call we were told of a number of redundancies that are to take place and details of which parts of the business this would happen to.
As i am on secondment to a dept that isn't affected, does anyone know if a pre-secondment role (which was in one of the affected departments) is what the decision would be based on or would it be the secondment role?

It would be based on your normal role. As that is your job you would return to after the secondment or not as may be the case.

thanks for letting me know - not the info i was hoping for0

No I am afraid not, but would the secondment job potentially become a permanent job? i.e. is it temporary cover or is it a job that has recently been created and might need to be carried on.
Did you apply for the secondment or were you chosen?

sorry for the late reply, been an up and down time!
it's complicated re: how i got the secondment, but i think i fall into it being created and i was chosen.
i was told that when the 12 months was up it would either become permanent or i would be offered a role within that dept.
it now transpires that the original dept i was seconded from is at risk and i can either take redundancy or apply for another role (which logistically and commitment-wise i cannot take due to elderly mother living with us).
Fate can be so cruel, i really enjoyed the role and apparently i have excelled at it too0 -
What is happening to the job you are seconded to ? is it being made permanent or is it going?
