I need to change the SIMs in my moto g6 dual SIM mobile. The SIM tray is supposed to spring out when a pin-type tool is inserted in the handset.
Unfortunately it doesn't. It's stuck. Can any MSE-ers advise how I can overcome this? Many thanks.

Do the SIM(s) in the tray still work? If so sounds like a stuck tray rather than disloged SIM(s). See this (although may apply to new phones rather than yours) https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G6-Moto-G6-Plus-Moto-G6-Play/Moto-G6-SIM-card-tray-stuck/m-p/4149062?page=1#4159152If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.2

Thanks, both!
The SIMs are both working. I'm very grateful for the links and plan to try them tomorrow.0 -
OP reporting back.
Genius! Insert the pin, hold the phone upside-down on a smooth surface with pin on the smooth surface, apply mild force. The SIM tray springs out.
Thanks again, Gravedigger and grumpycrab.2 -
I bought a Moto G7 Play a few months ago. I found it impossible to push the 32Gb (Sandisk) card into place. I had to resort to gradually filing down one edge, using fine emery paper, until it slotted in. At the time I thought "if this pops out when inside the phone, I'll never get the little drawer open". So this thread is very handy - just in case.
Actually I need to get the phone replaced - it developed a thin blue line down the display. Let's see if I can get the drawer open when I need to remove the sim and memory card.0
