90 day wait for holiday refund

I have been trying unsuccessfully to get a refund for our cancelled holiday, which was end of April, was told originally by the company this would take up to 60 days from travel departure date, when speaking to a customer advisor last Friday have now been told it’s been extended to 90 days and that they are following ABTA guidelines but can’t seem to find anything that says this is what ABTA are advising.
I have spoken to consumer helpline who have advised claiming on my card.
Any other advice on how we can get our money back, they have offered refund credit note but we just want a refund which I have requested.

Your card is the best bet, but I doubt anything will be quick.

Olympic Holidays said it'll be up to 12 weeks from departure date before I get paid and website now says 16 weeks ie October. Doesn't seem reasonable but there seems to be no quicker option if a refund has been offered by the company and it's just a matter of how long it takes to get it. I'd thought of complaining to Competition authority as Transport Minister Grant Schapps said firms shouldn't be holding ppls money but not sure if that would do anything.

Good luck, my NW credit card say 6-8 weeks to respond to my charge back claim."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Emirates constantly told me my Credit Card would be refunded in 90 days. I was helping my elderly mother-in-law to recover her cancelled holiday money with a different company and spoke to Barclays/visa. I mentioned I was having the same delay problem, the advisor told me to instigate a 'Chargeback" action within 120 days(very important). My Card was refunded within 2 days. A lot of scanning and searching through emails, but well worth it. Being a Barclays Premier customer may have a bearing on this outcome.0
