Which insurance policy counts

Hi All, hope everyone is well,
I purchase annual travel insurance for global travel each year & it is due for renewal in July. Of course the current provider is adjusting the wording to get out of cover for COVID 19. The question I have is: having booked my holiday in December 19 for September 20 while in the current policy cover that does provide for covid 19 if I have to claim which policy am I covered under. I would guess the new as the old won’t be live but wanted to check.

You’ll be covered under the new policy if that is the one in place when you travel. However you might get it under the old conditions.
Do you get the MSE weekly email? There was a stop press item in there about some kind of agreement on this.1
