Back in March I opened a new current account, the new account automatically applied for all direct debits and the ballance to be transferred from my old account to my new account and the old account was closed, the Covid lockdown then happened so I cancelled my train season ticket which had been purchased from the original now closed account, the train operating company have told me that they credited the ballance to my original account in May, my old bank are telling me there is nothing they can do because the account is closed.
Who do I need to follow up with to get my money back.

If you CASS over the payment will automatically transfer to your new account. If you manually moved over then manually closed the account the payment will bounce back to the sender's account.1

New and old account are both CASS. Doesn't appear to matter according to the CS at Lloyd's, the guy told me my account was closed, nothing he could do. Will go into a branch and see if they can help.0

Branch won't be able to help - all they would do if give you a phone number. Have a look online and see what info there is .
Or sit back for a while and see if the CASS system works.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
